Trekking in Wayanad

Trekking in Wayanad

The hills, rocks and valleys which contribute to the very unique character of Wayanad provide a lot for adventure tourism. Trekking to the Chembra peak is a risky mountaineering endeavour. Chembra peak, the highest hill in Wayanad, is near Meppady town. Trekking to the top of this peak takes almost a day. You can have group treks of up to ten people or hike on your own, accompanied by a guide. The Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary Trekking is established in 1973. It is contiguous to the protected area network of Nagarhole and Bandipur of Karnataka on the north-east and Mudimalai of Tamilnadu on the south-east.
